Digital Marketing Journey Began
I’ve been involved with Digital Marketing for just over a decade. After teaching myself Adobe Dreamweaver during the Christmas holiday of 2007 I took advice from friends and with additional support from the local college I was employed at, I created a side-line business designing websites for local SMEs.
Limited company formed
The level of advocates gained enabled me to experience a proud level of growth, resulting in my side-line becoming a full-time occupation in 2012 and subsequent formation of today’s limited company in 2013. this achievement felt even more special due me commencing the business from scratch during 2008’s recession.
I have recited this experience many times when explaining how businesses need to consider and embrace the customer lifecycle.
As my business expanded, the positive impact I was having on my target market of local SMEs was being noticed further afield. The pinnacle of this and one of the proudest moments of my career was being recognised by Hootsuite in terms of how social media was being leveraged in order to generate business success.
Apprenticeship training journey
Another major event occurred soon afterwards which enabled me to help a wider range of individuals and organisations. During a conversation with another local FE college, I was asked to consider training apprentices in addition to running my Digital Marketing business. A key statement made during this conversation was “you could make a real difference in a young person’s life” as a result of the experience and attitude I have towards Digital Marketing.
An approach from QA Apprenticeships subsequently followed and I’m extremely proud of the reputation I’ve forged with apprentices and their employers over this time resulting in a hat-trick of in-house Club Excellence awards achieved with QA in recognition of efforts made. I achieved Digital Marketing Delivery Lead status in addition to my tutoring role, this has enabled me to craft insightful and interactive courses enabling apprentices to gain a variety of qualifications including Level 4 Award in Digital Marketing from CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing).
